While, at first, Rene’s abandonment might seem irresponsible or cruel, the reason behind it left many people shocked to the bone. Get ready to shed a tear, as Rene’s story will definitely leave you heartbroken!
The Shocking Reason
A little boy named Andres one day decided to do what seemed the best for his beloved family dog – a Pittie named Rene.
Together with his mom, this giant-hearted young man put his furry buddy in a cardboard box and then drove all the way to a local rescue. They left him right in front of it, according to the rescue’s Facebook page.
After the shelter crew found Rene lying in the box, they were left in shock. But, then, a little note explained everything… and left everyone in tears!
The note said: “My mom and I decided to leave my dog in your hands, hiding it from my dad because he is thinking about selling him. But he mistreats and kicks him. One day he kicked him so hard that he hurt his tail. I hope you can help and take care of him.”
Next to the note, there was also a little Teddy bear – Rene’s favorite stuffie that Andres left for his buddy. The boy wanted to say one last goodbye to his dog with a lifelong memory that would serve as a reminder of his hooman brother.
As soon as the story was posted by the rescue, hundreds of people reached out, wondering about Rene’s status.
Rene On The Way To Complete Recovery
After he was admitted by the crew, Rene needed to be properly assessed. According to the staff, he came in with an injured tail, which was the result of his mistreatment in a previous home.
The boy’s dad intended to sell Rene prior to his surrender, but thanks to the noble acts of his little owner, he was timely saved.
Right now, Rene is in the process of recovery but already showing signs of progress.
He is now doing great in a big family of doggos. Still, when the time comes, the rescuers are absolutely positive that he’ll find a loving home and a family who will embrace him with an open heart.
According to his caregivers, Rene is nothing but the sweetest lovebug – extremely playful and full of love for everyone. Rene’s preferences are definitely bigger dogs and adults, but with the proper introduction, he can do great with everyone.
When the time is right, there’s absolutely no doubt that Rene will go to a nice home and have a great life, all thanks to his little savior!
