Some days are your days, others, not so much. For a dog, it was definitely his day, even though it probably didn’t seem like it when he started.

In Karnataka, a dog that was dressed up as a leopard in a bathroom for hours actually lived to see another day. Indian Forest Service officer Parveen Kaswan shared the miraculous story on his Twitter account, with an image showing the dog and the leopard sitting in each other’s company in the bathroom, just a few meters apart. Both animals seemed uncomfortable.

The incident reportedly occurred in Bilinele village of Karnataka. The dog entered a bathroom trying to escape from the leopard. However, when the big cat followed him inside, the residents of the house locked the door from outside.

The photograph shared by IFS Kaswan on microblogging website shows the dog curled up in a shelter.

‘Every dog has a day. I imagine this dog fell asleep in a bath with a leopard for hours. And he came out alive. It happens only in India,” he wrote.

According to Kaswan, the leopard had been chasing the dog. They both entered a house and went into a bathroom. The family members closed the door from outside. “It happened in Kadaba, Dakshina Kannada district,” he wrote in another tweet.

Later, the forest department rescued both animals.

Incidents of wild animals entering human civilizations have been on the rise. However, we also have to acknowledge the fact that it was people who took land from animals in the first place: several of them have lost their homes and food sources, all thanks to the spread of human civilization.
