Worse, his family abandoned him at an animal shelter after the incident, as if being stung by a large number of bees wasn’t bad enough.
When rescuers brought the deaf pit bull to the shelter, they gave him a life-threatening case of blisters and eventually named him Stinger.
Since they couldn’t treat a dog in such a terrible condition, they had planned to euthanize him.
At this point, Carri Shipaila’s LuvnPupz emergency medical service in Greater Grand Rapids, Michigan, intervened to provide assistance. She got in her car as soon as she found out about Stinger and drove about a mile to pick him up from the shelter.
However, Stinger’s family refused to take him in, so she immediately began working to save his life. He was treated for stitches, a subsequent skin infection, and sarcoptic mange.
Unfortunately, he contracted pemphigus, an autoimmune disease he will always struggle with.
Due to the high cost of caring for him, he will never be available for adoption, but he has found a loving forever home with a foster family and continues to be cared for and treated by LuvnPupz.
Stinger has come a long way since he was initially abandoned at the shelter. He has a beautiful white coat and his nagging blisters are now completely gone.
He is such an adorable, happy dog and is enjoying his new life in a loving household!
